Healing Journey in Da Lat – 2 Days 1 Night

Date 5/5/2025

A gentle 2-day-1-night healing trip to Da Lat, featuring familiar dining spots, hotel experiences, and peaceful check-in locations like Fairy Tale Village and Horizon Village.

📍 Destination: Da Lat
📅 Duration: 2 days 1 night
💰 Cost: $100 (a personal healing trip, not counting specific expenses)

Day 1: Journey to the Mountains – Both Familiar and New

11:30 – Lunch at Tiệm Cơm Bếp Củi

My family arrived in Da Lat at 11:30 AM, after more than 3.5 hours of driving from Nha Trang. We stopped by our familiar eatery – Tiệm Cơm Bếp Củi – and it felt just like always. Though the place was quite crowded today, the food was still delicious and the portions generous. I ordered an extra dish of fried egg with minced pork, which was quite good. The only downside was the long wait for extra rice due to the crowd.

13:00 – Check-in at Horizon Village

This time I again chose the attic room at Horizon – the same place I had stayed before. However, there were some minor issues: the faucet was clogged and water flow was weak. Additionally, the room wasn’t soundproofed well. I couldn’t sleep at night because of noisy guests passing by and chatting until quite late. Luckily, it was only noisy near the stairwell; once guests were in their rooms, it was quiet.

15:30 – Exploring The Fat Cat World

This experience did not meet my expectations. The staff seemed indifferent, and the cafe's atmosphere was dull and unfriendly. The small zoo smelled bad. There was a tube slide (like grass sliding) when entering, but it wasn’t impressive. I don’t think I’ll return here.

17:00 – Dinner at Horizon Coffee – BBQ

I enjoyed the quiet and beautiful view at Horizon’s BBQ area. However, some staff members argued in front of customers, which made me uncomfortable. The grilled shrimp wasn’t consistent in freshness – some were not fresh at all.

19:00 – Walk Around Xuan Huong Lake & Rest

We took a walk around Xuan Huong Lake to digest our dinner. I intended to visit Da Lat night market, but traffic was too heavy, so we decided to head back to the hotel and rest.

Day 2: A Gentle Morning – Returning with a Peaceful Mind

09:00 – Familiar Spot: Bánh Căn Nhỏ

A familiar spot – Bánh Căn Nhỏ – is always where I start my mornings in Da Lat. This time, a few of the cakes were slightly burnt, but still acceptable. I’ll remind the shop next time to be more careful.

10:00 – Exploring the Fairy Tale Village

This was a new place for me, and it pleasantly surprised me. The space was peaceful and beautifully designed, perfectly fitting the “healing” theme of my trip. If you’re looking for a quiet and scenic spot to relax in Da Lat, I’d recommend this.

12:00 – Lunch at Langfarm Center

Langfarm Center isn’t the best place for an adult lunch since the buffet mainly consists of sweets for kids. But since my child enjoys playing there, we stopped by before heading back to Nha Trang.

Final Thoughts

This wasn’t a hectic trip, and the schedule wasn’t packed, but it was just enough for me to feel “healed.” Despite a few letdowns, the overall vibe was positive. Da Lat always has a way of calming the soul.
