About Dangvivu

Where travel storytellers, the people who work in travel, and those setting out to discover Vietnam meet.

What this is

Dangvivu is a platform for travel writing about Vietnam, organised by place.

Travel writers, hotels, homestays, attractions, restaurants and tour operators publish about the places they know well. Every post belongs to a destination, so someone reading up on Đà Lạt or Hà Giang finds it on that place's page — not in a feed that moves on after two days.

Not a travel blog, and not a booking site. Dangvivu is where the story of a place stays, and travellers find it.

One post, many ways to tell it

Somebody researching Đà Lạt wants a three-day itinerary, a set of café photos, and a video of the drive. That is one subject told several ways, possibly by several people.

So there is one idea of a post: writing, captioned photos and video embedded from YouTube or Vimeo sit together in one post, rather than in three separate systems the reader has to stitch together.

Who it is for

For travellers: find travel writing by destination, follow writers whose taste you trust, save what is useful, comment and ask.

For travel writers: a creator profile, an editor that saves drafts as you type, a studio that keeps every post in one place, a clean link to share, and figures that tell you what was read.

For hotels, attractions, restaurants and tour operators: a place to tell the story a booking site has no room for, right where travellers are planning.

These are not different kinds of account. A creator is a member with a profile to publish from, once their application is approved.

Why you can trust what you read here

Not everyone can publish. Every creator applies, turns on two-factor authentication and accepts the Creator Terms & Conditions, and we review the application. Once approved, they also verify a phone number before their first post.

Anyone writing about their own business — a hotel, a restaurant, a tour — must say so in the post. So must anyone writing a sponsored post. No fake reviews, and no disparaging other businesses.

Readers can report any post or comment. Every report is read by a person, and every moderation decision is recorded.

Bilingual from the start

Vietnamese first, English alongside — not a localisation project bolted on later.

Vietnamese is the default language and the primary audience. English is there from the beginning because travel writing is read by people who do not live where it was written, and because international travellers are researching Vietnam too.

A post can carry both without becoming two posts with their own comments and likes. A post with no translation yet is marked as such, never machine-translated.
